The incident, which took place on Wednesday, comes months after the plane crash that killed then deputy CM Ajit Pawar on January 28.

Experts are calling for urgent safety upgrades and professional ATC oversight following a string of trainer aircraft crashes and a recent fatal VIP tragedy.

Two weeks ago, NCP(SP) executive president and Baramati MP Supriya Sule said she would be happy to see her sister-in-law Sunetra Pawar as CM of the state.

The MLA-elect has traded her seat in the Council of States for the Maharashtra assembly after securing a historic win that surpassed previous family records.

Sunetra Pawar leads comfortably in Baramati, securing thousands of votes, while her closest rival has around 100, Independents under 100 each, and NOTA just over 100.

Sunetra Pawar's win is a foregone conclusion; she is the only candidate from a major political party contesting the Baramati Assembly bypoll.
