The more mazurkas I learn the more I am beginning to enjoy them! I have presented Chopin's Mazurka op 24 no 2 already so I have decided to present two more! Very interesting harmonies here submitted by /u/scott_niu [link] [comments]

What I can already do - identify all intervals, triads and sevenths, little bit sight singing. What I want to do - identify 9ths 11th and 13 th chords, identify chord progressions, identify polychords, play by ear any rock pop or film music, improvise…

I’m learning etude op25 no5 and I’m struggling with the pedalling on the scherzando part. My sheet music doesn’t show any pedalling, but I always hear people use pedalling in this part. How do you guys do it?…

I found a used UX1 piano that's around 40 years old and has a lovely sound and am trying to decide whether to buy it. It has a Genio Neo-S built in (around 20 years old built in by the dealer), so aside from the control box being old with less options to…

I have played with this piece on and off for months and more than the notes is the rhythm and leaps. A few months ago I posted myself playing this and it was a tad rough and struggled with rhythm.…

Hello piano community! I'm a piano teacher who is currently submitting a student into a CAPMT festival, but for the life of me, I absolutely cannot find the full name of this Waltz by Franz Schubert.…

All feedback is welcome! I know my phrasing isn't the best in some spots, I always get so nervous playing on an unfamiliar instrument, and not having it memorized was an extra challenge this time. Proud of myself for doing it anyway!…

kind of messy ending b/c still working around and bad recording of audio but very grateful to have met a younger teacher at my community college who’s been super supportive through this unique challenge submitted by /u/glimpsesinthemirror [link] [comments]

I’m at the beginning of my third year at music school, and I still have a big issue when I play. When I play an easy or intermediate piece, I don’t have much trouble following the sheet music.…

Hello, everybody. I would like to know more about Ryuichi Sakamoto's style of playing. I apologise if I have broken any of the rules; I do not use Reddit often and am not acquainted with many subreddits, so I'm not sure where else to ask but here.…

I’m getting the harsh tone when I’m starting, it’s too sharp then the other tone and is also higher.

Hello again. As I mentioned in my previous post, I have been practicing for a couple of months using the C Major Scale (Parallel and Contrary Motion), Left Hand Appergios, and Hanon-1 (Which I am unsure if I am doing correctly).…

Hi all. First time posting in a while. If your a musician who likes practical jokes on fellow musicians then this is a perfect piece for you. Free of charge btw. This variation of happy birthday is a gift perfect for all, as long as they cant play it.…

I arranged Spring (Wild Horseradish Jam) from the video game Stardew Valley. It’s a wonderful theme and I think even people who don’t play the game would enjoy it! submitted by /u/robkovacsmusic [link] [comments]

my piano teacher has been assigning HW to me by writing it down on a piece of paper every lesson. But I always lose that sheet of paper and can’t read her handwriting. So whats a better way to do that?…

I played piano a bit when I was younger and I’m trying to get back into it now, I’ve seen people say the Yamaha p-145 is a good entry level keyboard, I’m just wondering if it’s as good as people say, or what others would be better if so submitted by…

I took lessons as a kid but have been revisiting piano on my own without lessons as an adult for about 3 years now. I like learning new songs but I never seem to master them completely, and be error free.…

So much fun to play, even if the Steinway's heavy keys gave me a bit of a hard time. Also, it is absolutely evil to fill the stride with tenths in the middle section lmao

In this piece I was imagining a cozy bookshop on a sunny afternoon~ submitted by /u/EdinKaso [link] [comments]
