Hello - I have what appears to be a galvanized steel roof. House was built in 1970 and I know the lower roof in the first photo is possibly newer as that is over a garage built in I believe the early 90s.…

Like the title says, been living here a little while, was out on a walk with our 9 month old and the sunset was just about perfectly parallel/in line with the roof slope and exposed this to me for the first time.…

Hello roofers, Just wondering if you could give me some advice on patching this hole on my roof. That gap is where the slates meet the lead verge on the gable end of my roof.…

Not a pro by any stretch but I know the basics. How's it looking so far? Update: roof pitch is 2/12. didn't realize that 3tab shingles were so polarizing. No one tripped on anything, we worked with our eyes open. Its done. Looks great to me.…

I don't known if it's possible to easily redo flashing with copper or I should just take the deduction? Can a good roofer redo chimney flashing without doing the entire roof? I'm worried they will mess it more if I ask for a redo.…

This is only 3 month old the dry photo is when new, the rainy one is after recent wind about 30mph with 60mph gust, I’m guessing this should not have failed off just this wind, and is the whole roof poorly done or this just a faulty one off slate?…

I have been in this house for about a year. There hasn't been much wrong so far, but we have been blessed by golf ball damage that originated outside of ownership.…

Before I undoubtedly annoy the roofer with a completely noob question can someone tell me if the holes should be on the bottom? https://preview.redd.it/w8mma95jeuxh1.png?width=516&format=png&auto=webp&s=57306f1e27893cb3e699fb6f49dc2daa5c212e9f submitted…

I replaced the step and counter-flashing around my friend's two chimneys. The reglets on the step flashing are set into the mortar joints by 1 inch. The caulking is Sashco Mor-Flexx.…

Had storm damage and needed the roof replaced. I didn’t know the skylight was bad… I had a feeling, but wasn’t sure. They replaced it without asking. I can see a sliver of daylight through a part of it. They haven’t finished the job yet.…

60 days ago, we had a new roof installed, GAF with a golden pledge warranty. We are having leaks all around the perimeter of the house. In the contract, it says new gutter apron on the eaves and T drip edging on the rakes.…

During our recent roof replacement, we had our box gutters covered over and new gutters installed. On one side of the house they left the original downspouts attached entirely or cut them near the roof and didn't cap them.…

I just finished completely repairing mortar and replacing a horribly installed/waterproofed bilco door/stairwell here that wreaked of lazy DIY and can not afford to tackle this next discovery at this time.…

Had the contractors put on a flat tpu roof on a flat roof They've been dragging their ass so I don't want to bother asking them to paint it, I have a spray gun and I'm wondering if there's something I could spray it with to help protect it from the Sun…
