My MIL gave me her high-end gas dryer because the control board had gone bad and the tumbler would stay running even when the dryer was turned "off" unless the dryer door is left open. This is a somewhat common problem, and dryers with this problem ends up on Facebook Marketplace, Buy Nothing Group, Nextdoor, Craigslist, etc. because it's usually expensive or even impossible to replace the control board. Most people just leave the door open and call it good. There is nothing else wrong with the dryer - it's a really nice dryer. And I originally had intended to fix it myself (I have the skills). But I haven't gotten around to fixing it (been busy). The only problem is that if I get distracted and forget to come back to the dryer when it should be done, the tumbler will keep on running until I do -- sometimes several hours later.…
