The FBI is offering support to Philippine authorities and investigating ‘potential US federal law violations’ following child sex abuse image allegations made against Thomas Markle Snr.

The Duchess of Sussex stated she was deeply distressed by the claims against her estranged father, revealing she has kept her children away from him to protect them.

The allegations were brought forward by Thomas Markle Jnr, who claimed to have discovered hundreds of illicit images on devices left behind by his father in the Philippines.

Thomas Markle Snr strongly denied the accusations, labelling the claims as sick lies and denying ever possessing such material.

The Metropolitan Police clarified it is not currently investigating Mr Markle Snr, but is conducting internal inquiries regarding officers' handling of a related 2018 letter.
