I decluttered a few years ago, and felt that I was on the path towards minimalism. However, I didn't change my buying patterns enough and most of the junk slowly reentered my life. Since my second declutter, I've found a key phrase that stops me when I start thinking about a new purchase.
Enough.
I have enough. I am enough. This new purchase, as alluring as it may be, won't make me happy. Two months from now, I will probably regret it or barely remember it.
I want to hear what others think about this, how do you evaluate your potential purchases and talk yourself out of buying the shiny new thing that has your attention?
