Currently have a 9070xt (upgraded from a 3070) paired with a 12600k, creating a bottleneck in modded Skyrim and Cyberpunk, with the GPU sitting at 65-70% utilisation at 1440p. I have an NR200p Max with an ASUS B660 motherboard and 32GB DDR5 and am wondering if it would be worth it to move to AM5 for the 9800x3D rather than simply upgrading to a 14700k. Motherboard selection is fairly limited for b650 boards in my country, mostly Gigabyte and ASRock, and the 9800x3D is priced at $840 compared with the 14700k at $720.

Are the temperatures that much better with a 9800x3D in an ITX build? Should I simply undervolt the 14700k and call it a day? Worried that I may have trouble selling a mini-ITX and likely an additional $100 for a new b650 motherboard.
