On its homepage , NYC’s sanitation department has a search bar where users can type in what they want to throw away, leading to a dropdown menu of items with disposal instructions. Ahead of the NBA Finals , the search menu has a new feature: When you type in “Spurs,” the team’s name fills into the auto-complete bar. Once selected, the site leads to a message reading, “New York Knicks. Go New York, go New York, GO! Here's hoping for a clean sweep!” The Spurs are gearing up to face off against the New York Knicks in the 2026 NBA Finals, which gives the city's trolling a little extra bite.
