Miami football lost out on three-star defensive lineman DeMarco Jenkins who flipped his commitment to SMU on Wednesday. The news was first reported by Rivals.

Jenkins originally committed to the Hurricanes back on May 31 over the Mustangs who remained in pursuit of the in-state talent.

The Hurricanes are now down to five commitments on the defensive line as Jenkins takes his talents to SMU.

The news of Jenkins departure comes the heels of Miami flipping previous Texas A&M commit Aston Whiteside to add to its defensive flexibility.
