A new 3-acre fire within Fort Carson was reported by federal dispatching data at 5:54 p.m. on Friday.

The blaze, named the Agony fire, reportedly began within the army base a mile east of Colorado 115 and more than 5 miles south of Colorado Springs. No other information was available as of 6 p.m. Friday.

A post spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the fire.

The incident is the second wildfire-related report in the Pikes Peak region on Friday. Hours earlier, crews determined a reported fire as a false alarm 2 miles southwest of Manitou Springs.
