Birmingham in the U.K.

Birmingham City Council in the U.K. got its own city mixed up last night after sharing a photo of Birmingham in Alabama.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Council was posting about a residential development that had been fined hundreds of thousands of dollars for “failing to carry out critical fire safety improvements.”

However, eagle-eyed observers quickly noticed that the photo accompanying the post didn’t show the U.K.’s second-largest city, but the second-largest municipality in Alabama.

“Wrong Birmingham photo well done,” wrote Jamie beneath the now-deleted post. “Seriously guys, who put the work experience kid in charge of the photo?” added Andrew Thomas.

The Tweet has now been replaced with an identical post (below) but with a photo of Birmingham, U.K.…
