The Chicago Bears shocked the NFL world on Thursday morning by pulling off a blockbuster trade for Jeffery Simmons . They acquired the superstar defensive tackle in a trade with the Tennessee Titans, sending their next two first-round picks and a fourth-round pick in 2027 to Tennessee in exchange for Simmons and a 2028 fifth-round pick.
This trade represents a seismic shift in the NFC's pecking order, and the Bears suddenly look like the team that's most likely to represent the conference in the Super Bowl. Unfortunately for one player, the Bears needed to release somebody to clear up room on the active roster for Simmons, and that player was fan-favorite defensive end Jamree Kromah. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz , the Bears released Kromah on Thursday afternoon.
