Hi Trekkies!

I'm a lapsed casual fan of Star Trek who is curious about getting more into it, since I play Magic: The Gathering and the new Star Trek set is making me more interested.

I've watched a decent chunk of TNG, some Voyager, a few DS9, and S1 of Picard. Plus the Kelvin-timeline films.

I'll probably finish Picard (I've just been dragging my feet since I heard S2 was bad), but I'd like to try one of the other new shows. Probably one that's welcoming to complete beginners as I may try and convince my spouse to watch too.

What would be the best show to try? I have done a bit of research but wanted to hear from fans too. At this stage I'm leaning towards Discovery just because it seems like the one that's less reliant on having seen other shows, and has a few actors I like, but I would love to hear suggestions!
