Hi everyone, I am having a frustrating issue with my ESAB Sentinel A70 Pro welding helmet and could really use some troubleshooting help from fellow welders.
The automatic darkening filter (ADF) works perfectly fine when I press and hold the built-in test button inside the helmet. However, as soon as I start welding, the lens starts to flicker and blink right where the arc/flame is. It opens and closes continuously while I am trying to weld, which is blinding and impossible to work with.
I have already tried to turn up the sensitivity settings to maximum and increased the delay time to prevent it from switching back too fast, but the flickering still persists right at the arc. The outer protection plate is clean and free of scratches, and the sensors on the front of the cartridge are completely clean from dust and welding fumes.
Has anyone experienced this specific issue with the A70 Pro model or its USB-C control cable? Could it be a faulty ADF cartridge, a battery issue, or something else?…
