MapTap is a daily game that tests geographical knowledge and provides tools to improve it. The site's daily challenge presents five locations on a rotatable globe, and scores are based on how close the mark is placed. After all the correct locations are revealed, facts about each one are added to the globe.

A limited number of previous challenges and practice maps are available. A subscription unlocks up to 90 days of previous challenges and a huge assortment of practice maps. Subscribers can also create groups to compete against friends. The best feature is a custom practice map based on past mistakes, which updates every day. The subscription costs $2.99 a month or $15 for a year.

The leaderboard by region is an indictment of the American education system.
