Doesn't International Surfing Day just feel like a made up holiday? The world's already filled with days – like, bubble wrap appreciation day, national do nothing day, no rhyming day. Everything gets a day, these days. Each year, International Surfing Day takes place on the third Saturday in June. Get ready for the swathe of wave emojis from brands across the planet, capitalizing on the moment. But, and maybe this is a bit of a cliche, ISD is more than empty platitudes and self-back-patting. It's one of the fewer surf-related celebrations that actually means something.
