Stripe on October 21, 2026 announced Stripe Treasury for agents, a way for businesses to run parts of their banking through AI agents, including ChatGPT and Claude. Agents connected to a company’s Treasury account through Stripe’s Model Context Protocol (MCP) server can check balances, pay invoices, transfer funds between accounts and convert currencies, according to the company’s announcement .

Stripe pitched the product at startups and very small teams. The company said businesses will soon be able to have agents create cards, and that they will be able to set spending limits for their agents in the coming weeks. Stripe’s developer documentation lists the feature as a public preview.
