Duran Duran stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform their new song “Free to Love” alongside Nile Rodgers .
With an empowering tone and a throwback sound lifted from Duran Duran and Rodgers’ mid-’80s era, they gave a faithful and anthemic rendition of “Free to Love.” Vocalist Simon Le Bon was joined by a backing vocalist, but his booming voice alone remains expressive and earnest; Rodgers, meanwhile, vibed and sang to Le Bon as he played guitar, just looking happy to be there (Rodgers’ usual demeanor). Behind the band, a display featuring rainbows, unicorns, and dancers was shown, reinforcing the song’s themes of LGBTQ+ pride and being free to love beyond societal barriers.
