Hello everyone,

I'm in a situation I didn't expect and I'm not sure how to handle it.

A few days ago, a coworker and I were talking about salary raises and the cost of living and I didn't really see a reason to hide it, so I told them. They shared their salary too, and we realized there's a pretty big difference even though we do almost the same job.

I didn't think much of it at the time. I wasn't trying to cause problems or encourage anyone to complain so I just answered honestly.

Well, word got around the office.

now my manager called me into their office and said

HR wants to meet with me. They didn't say anything but they did mention that talking about pay can

"cause problems" in the workplace.

Now I'm stressed because I honestly wasn't trying to start drama or get anyone upset.…
