Third quarter earnings season is in full swing this week, with corporate results on deck from Big Tech heavy-hitters Microsoft (MSFT), Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL), and Amazon (AMZN).

Aside from Big Tech, industries from oil to chips to pharmaceuticals will be represented, as Exxon Mobil (XOM), Intel (INTC), Boeing (BA), Ford (F), and Eli Lilly (LLY) also open their books.

It's shaping up to be another strong earnings season. According to FactSet data, nearly a quarter of S&P 500 companies have already reported Q3 earnings so far, with an overall earnings growth rate of 29.5%.…
