Washington and Washington State announced this week they will play on Aug. 28 in next season’s opener for both teams. Should they keep playing the Apple Cup, move the game back to the end of the season or get rid of it?

Yamashita: Honestly, I just don’t see any way for Washington to move the Apple Cup to its normal weekend as the regular-season finale while the two teams remain in different conferences. USC was allowed to end its season with a rivalry game against independent Notre Dame in 2024 before finishing with UCLA in 2025.…
