Tomino Shun has published ESP_MOVIE on GitHub, a movie playback library for the ESP32 series. It plays Motion JPEG video from AVI files along with MP3 audio.

The library drives displays over an Intel 8080 8-bit parallel interface using DMA transfer. SPI is not supported. Color formats are RGB565 and BGR565. A handful of display controllers have been tested, and other MIPI DCS compatible controllers may work without being confirmed.

The examples folder ships with sample Motion JPEG (AVI), MP3 and JPEG files so the library can be tried right away.
