Hayden Panettiere death: Former child star's glittering career and tragic death at 36

The Greenville Police Department in South Carolina has closed its investigation into the death of actor Hayden Panettiere , officially ruling it an accident.

A coroner's report determined that the 36-year-old Nashville star died from the toxic effects of fentanyl, Alprazolam, and several other medications.

Officers found Panettiere in cardiac arrest after responding to a report of an unresponsive female on August 16, and resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.

An autopsy revealed no signs of trauma that would have contributed to Panettiere's death.

Panettiere's former fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko , was appointed temporary guardian of their 11-year-old daughter's estate following concerns about missing personal items.
