We say : Um: The American Revolution was led by some of the richest men of their time.

Jefferson, Madison and Washington would be surprised to hear that the colonists’ revolt against King George III wasn’t seeking liberty and self-government, but . . . higher taxes?

This adversity:

“We pulled New York City back from an existential fiscal brink.” — Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Tuesday

We say: No city with rising tax revenues is at a “fiscal brink”: Mamdani just wanted to goose spending to pay for his pet programs.

The state handed him billions and OK’d billions more in “savings” by delaying payments to pension funds; creative accounting helped, too.…
