iPhone Duo Jailbroken on Launch Day: Calif Demonstrates iOS 27.1 Security Bypass Ahead of iOS 27.2
Apple's newly released foldable smartphone has been jailbroken within hours of reaching customers, highlighting the ongoing race between Apple's security engineering teams and independent vulnerability researchers.
On October 23, 2026, security research team Calif demonstrated a jailbreak on an iPhone Duo running iOS 27.1 , the operating system version introduced for Apple's new foldable device. The demonstration showed the Home Screen's app icons and widgets moving outside their normal layout, alongside other visual modifications that would not ordinarily be possible on a standard, unmodified iPhone.
The achievement follows Calif's earlier demonstration of an untethered jailbreak on an iPhone 18 Pro running iOS 27.0.1.β¦
