Guests at The White Lotus are packing their Rimowa luggage and boarding their flights bound for the glittery French Riviera —but this time, they're swapping sun beds for red carpets. We've known for a while now that season four of Mike White's Emmy-winning series, which sees glossy hotel guests and employees entangled in scandal, mystery, and murder, will be heading to the sunshiny Côte d’Azur. Now, we've learned a little more about the filming locations of the next season—and the setting gives us a rather big plot clue too.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, on paper, the series plot appears to remain the same as the previous (wildly successful) three seasons, with HBO showrunners stating that season four will “follow a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week, taking place during the Cannes Film Festival.” Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Sandra Bernhard, Vincent Cassel, and Max Greenfield are among the glittery ensemble cast.
