Sunday Best

Standing out among the many gowns on the red carpet for the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Oct. 17 was this unique Mugler ensemble, worn by Jodie Turner-Smith (“The Agency”). It’s strange and beautiful and whimsical (that charmingly Dr. Seuss-ish hat! Those matching gloves!) and not at all what one might expect for a gala, but I suspect all eyes were on her, all evening. (And I hope her vision wasn’t too obscured by that small eyehole, but sometimes a glorious look is worth a little discomfort.)
