I maintain safari-mcp , an MCP server that lets AI agents drive Safari on macOS. Not a fresh browser in a sandbox. The user's own Safari, with their Gmail session, their bank tab, their cookies. That is the whole point of the tool, and it is also why I no longer merge anyone's pull request.
People still contribute, and their ideas still ship. Today's release, v2.23.0, has four of them. But none of the contributor's commits are on main . The ideas are there, rewritten line by line in my own commit, with the contributor credited in the changelog.
Here is why I ended up there, and what it costs.
