There is already a healthy SSW Southern Hemi swell running, providing head high+ surf for well exposed breaks throughout Southern California. However, that is about to be joined and then eventually overtaken by stronger swell moving up from Hurricane Genevieve. Note - this event won't be to the caliber as the famous Hurricane Marie swell back in Aug 2014, but still a very solid one nonetheless. WEDNESDAY 28th Building through the day, the leading swell from Genevieve will sweep into the SoCal Bight from a steep SSE angle (160-170°) and of longer period bands (relatively speaking for tropical cyclone swells). This particular energy will be spot selective over Wednesday going into Thursday the 30th. But again, there is also a sizable and more westerly angled, long period SSW swell topped out for the region. Therefore, there will be no shortage of waves for most areas across SoCal.
