I’m currently in my 2nd year (entering 3rd in aug) and want to start my dev journey this summer. I’m confused between two paths:

Option 1 (Backend):
Learn Python + Django, build small projects → start open source contributions around Nov–Dec → target GSoC 2027 + apply for backend internships for next summer.

Option 2 (AI/ML):
Focus on AI/ML from now → prepare projects + fundamentals → apply for corporate/research internships (maybe IITs) around Nov–Dec.

I’m from a Tier 3 college, so I want to choose the path that maximises my chances for internships + long-term growth.
Would really appreciate honest guidance 🙏
