It was always going to be difficult to top the chaos of Week 7. But from the early window to a late-night battle between Big 12 heavyweights in Salt Lake City, Week 8 delivered plenty of drama.

Upsets? Week 8 had those. LaNorris Sellers and South Carolina poured cold water on Tennessee 's College Football Playoff aspirations in a come-from-behind win. Texas Tech suffered the same experience in a charged visit to Cincinnati , as did USC at Wisconsin , where Lincoln Riley and the Trojans mustered just seven points coming out of a bye week.

Meanwhile, the shine of BYU' s win over Notre Dame and rise to No. 2 in the AP Poll lasted all of seven days before the Cougars fell in a bizarre double-overtime road loss against a feisty UCF squad.
