The ocean didn’t exactly knock on Nicolas Cage’s door. It took out the driveway. A massive sinkhole opened Tuesday morning outside Cage’s beachfront Malibu mansion as Southern California continued to absorb the effects of Hurricane Marie’s powerful south swell, high tides, and coastal flooding. The collapse occurred along Sea Level Drive, where the driveway of Cage’s roughly $10.5 million home gave way toward the beach. The property, which Cage purchased in 2024, sits directly between the Pacific and Pacific Coast Highway. By Tuesday evening, the hole had expanded to approximately 30 by 60 feet and was about 25 feet deep. A gas main was damaged during the collapse, prompting utility crews to shut off natural gas along part of the street. The city ultimately red-tagged dozens of nearby homes as officials assessed the unstable ground.…
