Unsolved Mysteries has found its latest topic of focus: the infamous Tylenol murders . In 1982, a string of fatal poisonings in Chicago killed seven people over the course of three days. After offering a reward for information about the killings, authorities received an anonymous letter claiming the murders would stop in exchange for $1 million. A second letter eventually led police to James Lewis, who died in 2023, and served more than 12 years in prison for attempted extortion.

On Oct. 9, the documentary series will revisit the crimes in an 88-minute special titled Unmasking the Tylenol Killer . The true-crime audience is anxiously awaiting the documentary, which premieres on The Roku Channel and explores the connection between a 1982 suicide case and the Tylenol murders.
