Meghan Markle's father, Thomas Markle Sr., could face criminal charges depending on the results of a forensic investigation in the Philippines, where authorities say they have recovered suspected child sexual abuse material from his former home.

Philippine Interior Minister Jonvic Remulla told The Guardian that investigators are examining the evidence before deciding whether to prosecute the 82-year-old.

"Right now, all signs point to a possible sex offender of the grossest kind," Remulla said. "We want to be sure before we release the findings. The forensics data will be complete in a week."

The minister emphasized that investigators have not reached a final conclusion and are considering multiple possibilities, including the family disputes surrounding the allegations.

"In these cases where family disputes are mixed up, we have to consider all the angles," he explained.
