Saudi-led coalition says it intercepted drone and missile launched towards Riyadh and 10 missiles targeting the southern region.
Saudi Arabia has intercepted drones and missiles over its capital, Riyadh, and southern areas, the Saudi-led coalition has said, as fighting with Yemen’s Houthis continues.
Coalition spokesman Major-General Turki al-Maliki said on Sunday its forces intercepted and destroyed a Houthi ballistic missile launched towards the capital city that morning, as well as a drone in the Riyadh region, and a cruise missile aimed at the southwestern city of Khamis Mushait, with explosions ringing out in the Saudi capital.
