Daisy May Cooper once dated a guy who told her that her face belonged in an Aardman animation. Unsurprisingly, their relationship didn’t last long after Wallace and Gromit were dragged into it.

“He said my face looked like it was made out of plasticine. I mean, what an arsehole! What a f***ing dick!” she roars through laughter with a West Country twang. “He’s a f***ing twat anyway.”

While it’s not the sort of observation you want to hear from a boyfriend, it’s an accurate way to describe the scrunched-up face Cooper pulls on Last One Laughing ’s new Halloween special. The This Country star returns to the feel-good hit for its spooky new series, attempting once again to get through several hours in the presence of other comedians without cracking up. For her, that required a comically furrowed brow and some serious pouting.
