1. An installer test: the public tree installs whole into an empty home

   bin/test_install.sh runs install.sh into a throwaway home and checks that the
   authored files land, settings.json parses, every hook it names is there and
   executable, the personal templates are seeded once and a second run keeps a
   personalised one. bin/run-tests picks it up by name.
