Hi everyone, sorry for the long post. I graduated this summer with a bachelors in BioSci. Throughout my life, I always thought about entering the medical field, as I find it well-paying and I find the science interesting. Originally I was pre-med but decided against it due to the extreme schooling.
As of now I have two options: I could become a registered nurse through an ABSN program, or become a rad tech.
I come from a low-income background, so an RN is more intriguing since it pays more. I know it is easy to switch jobs in case you ever get burned out. I also volunteered for 108 hrs at a med surg / acute care nursing unit at a local hospital, and I was miserable, buttttt that was mostly because I barely did anything interesting so I got bored to tears fast. The nurses seemed to have neutral expressions throughout work; no one felt energetic.
I am looking to interview nurses my parents are friends with, as well as shadowing. Meanwhile I just HATE how nursing seems so divisve all over the internet!…
