It’s only been five years since Magnus Ferrell started to release music , and it was only five years before that he wrote his first song, at the age of 12, in attempts of getting a crush’s attention.

The 22-year-old is adjusting well to his breakout year, which has seen a hit single, “Asleep Talking,” a residency at the Blue Note in Los Angeles, opening first for Nick Jonas and now the Jonas Brothers, and the release of an EP.

“I’ve had a lot of social media growth, but these experiences in person have made me realize the social media stuff kind of doesn’t really mean that much to me,” Ferrell says.…
