Build an Aliens style motion scanner with an ESP32-S3 and LD2450

Julian Horsey at Geeky Gadgets writes about a handheld radar built by NorthWorks Lab, modeled on the motion tracker from the movie Aliens. It pairs an ESP32-S3 microcontroller with an LD2450 radar module, a small display and a speaker.

The LD2450 reports the position of moving targets, and the ESP32-S3 turns that data into an animated sweep on the screen along with beeps as contacts appear. Wiring is light: three connections link the radar module, the display and the speaker to the board.

The build files are free to download, so the enclosure and code are there to copy or change.
