Hello, husband and I recently bought a house that has hardwood on the first floor and broadloom carpet on the second. We have a 2 month old baby and 2 cats. I’ve never really lived in a house that has carpet so just wondering what is your take…is it worth it to rip out the carpet and replace with LVP or engineered hardwood?

Also, if we want the hardwood flooring upstairs to match the downstairs flooring, how can we go about determining the exact type/brand of flooring used? The house was constructed in the mid 2000s. Would we reach out to the builder?
