With the 2026 FIFA World Cup in full swing, it looks like everyone is becoming a fan of soccer — even aquatic birds.

A new video has gone viral for capturing a duck in Mexico City wearing a Selección de fútbol de México jersey.

The person taking the video scans a crowd of soccer fans before settling on the duck, which can be seen sporting a green jersey and waddling behind a woman and a young boy.

On Thursday (June 11), Mexico beat South Africa 2-0 on the opening day of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Over 80,000 fans, mostly wearing Mexico green, poured out of Mexico City's famed Estadio Azteca and cheered in the streets following the win.

Mexico’s forward, Julián Quiñones, scored a goal within 10 minutes of the first half of the game.

"I'm happy and excited to have scored in this packed stadium and with the fans supporting us the whole time," he said (via ESPN). "We played well, and we achieved this victory as a team."
