From beginning to end.

I have been living a manic existence for four and a half years in response to situational depression.

The symptoms have been splurging on things for weeks, months, and years without much thought and not having a regular sleep routine.

The problems started in August 2021 when I was producing a three-week residency of Between Panic and Desire at The Players Theatre in NYC.

After the first weekend of performances, I was hospitalized with what turned out to be dysentery and a blood infection.

For three days, nothing they gave me was treating the problem. Meanwhile, I was in more pain than when I shattered my left patella in 2016.

Finally, some antibiotic started working.

The infectious diseases doctor said I was one day away from becoming a research paper.

I missed all of the remaining performances.…
