Thinking about a trip to Perth mid November for 12 days (from UK). Annual leave restrictions means this is the most I can do!

33F. Just gone through a horrible break up and we were meant to be going away at this time… thoughts of staying in the UK on my own are too depressing with the cold miserable weather!

Budget is around £1200 for accommodation, and around £1500-2000 spending money (including 3 day car hire)

Current thoughts are 8 nights in Perth followed by 3(?) in Margaret River. I'd hire a car for Margaret River.

Perth itinerary would be Rottnest Island, Fremantle, Whale Watching, Scarborough beach/Trigg beach; Rockingham, Shoalwater Bay & Penguin Island, Swan Valley for wine tasting.

Margaret River would be beaches, wine tasting and the coast really!

Questions:

Any recommendations on places to stay? Hostels and hotels look quite expensive, have also looked into rooms on air BnB.…
