Custom GPTs are set to retire on December 11, 2026. The "Migrate to plugin" button moves most of a GPT, but not its custom actions. If your GPT calls an API, that part has to be rebuilt, usually as an MCP server.

This post rebuilds a real action schema as a remote MCP server on Cloudflare Workers: one tool per operation, no sessions, 169 lines of code. Then it checks the server with the MCP Inspector.
