What began as another packed-to-the-gills 4th of July on the sand in the ritzy Orange County, CA surf town descended into chaos Saturday night, as large crowds of mostly young people clashed with police in a series of disturbances that were captured in dramatic videos circulating across social media. The footage shows police officers on horseback charging toward crowds gathered on the beach, while other officers, some carrying batons, worked to disperse groups as illegal fireworks exploded across the sand.
