(NEXSTAR) – Thanksgiving is more than a month away, but you may already be booking your flights – if you didn’t when experts recommended it last month – and planning your route (over the river and through the woods) to grandmother’s house.
If you’re worried about weather impacting your travel, you may be in luck, at least according to one outlook.
The Farmers’ Almanac says its forecast suggests there will not be “a major nationwide storm” during the week of Thanksgiving this year, specifically from Monday, Nov. 23 through Thanksgiving Day.
The publication is anticipating cooler temperatures for most of the U.S., with the exception of the Southeast, where it could be “mild and pleasant.” Snow is possible throughout the northern Plains and Rockies, as well as in the Midwest and Northeast. Rain could impact the Pacific Northwest and the Southwest, with “no major storminess” expected in the Southern Plains.
