Art Basel Qatar Returns With 82 Galleries, Courts New Collectors

The fair will also cover some shipping costs and accommodation for artists and exhibitors.

Art Basel Qatar ‘s sophomore edition returns to Msheireb Downtown Doha in January with more than 80 galleries—and a plan to cultivate the collectors it hopes will buy from them. The fair will also offer increased financial support for exhibitors as the Iran War continues to cast a shadow of uncertainty over the region.

The fair opens to VIPs on January 26 with 80 solo artist presentations from 82 galleries, down slightly from the inaugural event‘s 87. Nearly 40 percent of exhibitors are newcomers, including London’s Pilar Corrias , San Francisco’s Gallery Wendi Norris , and Hong Kong’s Hanart TZ .
