Hello -- I'm 22. I graduated with a degree in Software Engineering in July 2026. I've spent the last 6 months full time as a Systems Engineer at a Fortune 100 company, and 1.5 years before that as an intern on the same team. The company has had major executive changes and is restructuring. We've been informed mass layoffs are to be expected before the end of the year.

I am open to roles in either Systems or Software Engineering. I've confirmed with my boss (who has become a mentor figure to me) that my current employer does not disclose job titles during background checks - just employment dates. My current role has been a hybrid between Systems and Software Engineering, and I've gained experience in both. I would be happy to work in either. Because of this, I've been thinking about using two resumes.…
