Google Cloud will make its A5X instances, built on NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 systems, generally available in November, NVIDIA said in an Oct. 21, 2026, post timed to GTC Berlin . The post said general availability “is coming next month, with planned expansion of availability to Europe,” and that Google Cloud plans to scale its Vera Rubin-based infrastructure to as many as 960,000 Rubin GPUs across multiple sites.
Each A5X instance combines Vera Rubin NVL72, NVIDIA ConnectX-9 SuperNICs, Google Cloud’s Virgo Network and the company’s fourth-generation liquid cooling, and NVIDIA said the system slots into Google Cloud’s AI Hypercomputer with compute, networking and storage integrated. Google introduced Virgo at Google Cloud Next 2026 as a fabric meant to link tens of thousands of accelerators, as WebProNews reported when Google’s Virgo Network rewired its data centers for AI scale .
